How is information gathered on the website used? |
This website was developed and is maintained by the Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative (CAHMI).
The information gathered on the website is confidential and anonymous. It is used by three groups of people:
| 1) |
Parents who fill out the Promoting Healthy Development Survey receive
a personalized report based on their responses.
- This report guides you as a parent about the steps you can take to partner with your child’s health care provider to improve your child’s health care.
| 2) |
Health care providers and health systems who are working with the CAHMI team receive a summary report of the findings.
- This report guides doctors and other healthcare providers in how they can improve the care they provide to young children.
- The PHDS is available for free to health care providers and health systems.
- Health care providers can sign up to create a survey that is specific for their patients and focuses on the specific areas of health care they want to improve.
- At the beginning of the survey, parents are asked to identify where their child receives care.
- If your health care provider is listed here as an option to choose, it means they are a provider working with the CAHMI and they will receive a report summarizing the results of the surveys. Your health care provider will not know what your individual answers are.
- If your child’s doctor or health care provider is not listed, then they are not currently working with the CAHMI and will not receive a report about your survey results.
| 3) |
The CAHMI team uses the findings from this survey to describe the current level of care that is provided to young children and to advocate for improvements.
- Examples of how the group-level findings are used include papers for peer-reviewed publications (example: The journal Pediatrics) or a strategic memo to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services about where they should focus their quality improvement resources.
If you have any questions about the survey or how the survey findings are used, please feel free to contact the CAHMI at phds@ohsu.edu or 503-494-1930.
